WE DON’T PARTNER WITH JUST ANY BRAND.
At RÈLIER, we are incredibly selective with the fashion clients we choose to recruit for. We love a trending label and a shiny new drop, but when it comes to building real recruitment partnerships, it’s the culture alignment that matters the most.
It’s simple. We know that the best of the best fashion talent (read: you) deserves so much more than fancy product and a well-written job ad. Our candidates deserve to work for brands who do good stuff.
In an industry where shiny surface-level perks and products can outshine cultural issues, we’ve learned to dig deeper and make quick decisions when things aren’t adding up. We’re interested in the values, the leadership style and the way a business treats its team behind (fashionably) closed doors. This is why we only represent brands that back their values with behaviour.
And fashion job seekers, know this: we’re not one to say no to a brand based on assumptions. If we see potential, we’ll always give a new brand a try. But when the red flags start to emerge, you can count on us to say ‘we’re not the recruitment partner for you.’ We understand that asking you to leave your role is a big deal and we are committed to making sure you’re leaving for a good one.
Whether it's an emerging designer label in Sydney or a heritage AU brand in Melbourne, we take the time to truly understand each business we work with. We're not here to fill fashion jobs for the sake of it. We're here to find you a workplace that you’ll love more than the last.
RÈLIER LEADERSHIP TEAM: Em and Lauren
What make us walk away from a brand? No matter how strong the product or how big the clout, when the recruitment process is off, we’re walking away. And psst - you should consider these your red flags as a candidate too.
🚩 Consistently waiting too long for candidate feedback after submission or interview phases. Recruitment is a two-way street and time is the currency of the transaction. Fast candidate feedback is respectful and necessary.
🚩 Delayed timing between meetings / no sense of urgency. This shows a lack of respect for our time as recruiters and the candidates time as potential employees of the brand
🚩The talent market rejecting roles because of the brand’s reputation as an employer. No explanation needed.
🚩 A high percentage of candidates being made unsuccessful or resigning in the first few months. It’s only natural that some candidates don’t work out, but a consistently high replacement rate suggests a brand isn’t clear on what and who they actually need in their business.
🚩 Feedback that ‘the role is not what I thought' from candidates. This shows a lack of transparency from the brand through the recruitment process and makes retention a very tough gig.
🚩 Unclear job briefings or no job descriptions being provided. When we see this consistently, we get the sense a brand is testing the market and isn’t genuinely ready to hire. It often lesds to roles being withdrawn (and never filled), leaving to a lot of disappointed candidates and wasted time in our wake.
We work to build long term, sustainable recruitment partnerships with our clients. At RÈLIER, we love having meaningful conversations with our brand partners and we work incredibly hard to match them with the right talent; the perfect blend of skill and cultural harmony. It’s why our brands come back time and time again for more talent for their business.
From fashion design jobs in Sydney to entry-level fashion jobs in Melbourne and everywhere in between, you can trust that if it's on the RÈLIER job board, the brand has been vetted for culture, progression, and purpose.
We are incredibly proud to place candidates into fashion jobs across Australia. From Sydney fashion jobs with iconic AU designers, to fashion careers in Brisbane with new bands on the cusp of cult followings. Each placement is carefully considered. Each brand relationship is built on mutual respect.
For us, “job opportunities in fashion” is about more than a fancy role title and impressive salary. It is about aligning people with the right cultures and ensuring that every introduction we make is one that reflects our values as a business.
We’re here to represent brands doing things the right way. And if you're a candidate looking for that kind of alignment? You’re our kind of person.
