    • Bring 5+ years’ experience within the fashion industry, ideally within a fast-paced environment

    • Have strong experience designing garments and prints across multiple categories

    • Bring a balance of creative instinct and commercial awareness

    • Have strong garment construction and technical design knowledge

    • Are highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

    • Have experience leading projects, managing timelines and delivering high-quality outcomes

    • Enjoy mentoring and developing emerging design talent

    • Are highly organised, detail-oriented and thrive working across multiple priorities

THE ROLE

An opportunity to shape the creative direction of one of Queensland’s fastest-growing fashion brands.

As the Design Manager, you will lead the end-to-end design process from concept through to final product, ensuring collections are both creatively compelling and commercially successful. Sitting at the heart of the product function, you will drive seasonal direction across multiple categories while balancing innovation, trend and customer demand.

Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Production and Product Development, this role will play a key part in shaping future collections while mentoring and developing a growing design team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of seasonal collections from concept through to final product

  • Drive creative direction through mood boards, trend forecasting, colour palettes and exclusive design concepts

  • Ensure collections align with brand handwriting, customer profiles and commercial objectives

  • Create exclusive prints and source new fabric bases, trims and finishes across collections

  • Lead colour-up processes for best-selling styles and key categories

  • Drive innovation across product while remaining commercially aware of customer demand and performance

  • Partner closely with factories, Production and Garment Technicians to ensure design intent is executed accurately

  • Participate in fit sessions and oversee product development through to final execution

  • Support and guide the creation of specification packs, CADs and technical details where required

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners

  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of Designers and Junior Designers

  • Foster a collaborative, creative and high-performing team culture while driving accountability across timelines and quality standards

  • Partner cross-functionally with Buying and Merchandising to align collections to range plans, pricing and margin objectives

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Styling and Ecommerce teams to bring the brand vision to life across campaigns and launches

  • Stay across global trends, customer insights and best-selling products to maximise commercial opportunities
