• 6+ years' experience as a Pattern Maker within premium or luxury ready-to-wear.
• Extensive experience developing patterns across tailoring, soft dressing and occasion wear.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading and pattern engineering.
• High level of proficiency in manual and/or digital pattern making systems.
• Excellent knowledge of luxury fabrics and garment performance.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical and fit challenges while maintaining design intent.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and seasonal deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

THE ROLE
The Pattern Maker is responsible for developing accurate, production-ready patterns that bring creative concepts to life while maintaining the highest standards of fit, construction, quality, and commercial viability.
Working closely with Design, Product Development, Technical, Production, and the Workroom teams, this role supports the successful delivery of seasonal collections from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities
Pattern Development
Create first patterns across RTW collections, including runway, commercial and special projects.
Interpret design concepts, sketches and technical briefs into accurate manual or digital patterns.
Develop patterns that balance design intent, fit, construction and manufacturability.
Maintain accurate pattern documentation, grading and filing systems.
Fit, Sampling & Technical Development
Attend fit sessions and implement pattern amendments to support development timelines.
Collaborate with sample makers, machinists and cross-functional teams throughout prototype and SMS development.
Ensure pattern accuracy, garment balance, proportion and functionality while resolving technical construction challenges.
Quality & Construction
Uphold brands standards for fit, construction and quality.
Recommend improvements to pattern engineering and construction methods to enhance quality, consistency and production efficiency.
Support seamless transition from development to production by ensuring patterns are commercially viable.
Collaboration & Workflow
Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Technical, Production and the Workroom to achieve seasonal milestones.
Manage workload to meet development calendars, sampling deadlines and collection priorities.
Maintain organised records of pattern revisions and proactively communicate any risks relating to timing, fit or technical execution.
