    • 8+ years’ experience in production management or product development within a designer or contemporary RTW environment.

    • Proven experience managing offshore manufacturing and global supply chains.

    • Strong technical expertise in garment construction, pattern development, and production processes.

    • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.

    • Highly organised, solutions-driven, and calm under pressure.

    • Adept at balancing creative vision with commercial and operational realities.

    • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments.

THE ROLE

Lead and oversee all facets of global production, ensuring collections are executed to the highest standard of quality, fit, and craftsmanship, delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the brand’s creative vision and commercial strategy. The Production Director drives operational excellence across development, sourcing, and manufacturing, translating design intent into realised product with precision and consistency.

 

  • Define and implement seasonal production strategies that balance creative innovation with commercial objectives.

  • Own the production calendar and critical path, ensuring cross-departmental alignment from design development through delivery.

  • Anticipate challenges across the production cycle and proactively mitigate risks relating to capacity, lead times, or material constraints.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local and international manufacturers, fabric mills, and trim suppliers.

  • Oversee vendor selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation, ensuring alignment with the brand’s quality, ethics, and sustainability standards.

  • Negotiate costings, lead times, and terms that deliver optimal value without compromising quality or craftsmanship.

  • Drive supplier innovation — introducing new techniques, finishes, and fabrications aligned with the brand’s design evolution.

  • Lead technical development through sampling, fittings, and pre-production, ensuring accurate translation of design vision into production reality.

  • Approve BOMs, tech packs, and construction standards, collaborating with design and patternmaking to ensure silhouette integrity and fit precision.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues at all stages of production, providing solutions that maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Oversee quality control processes from fabric inspection through final garment finishing, implementing corrective measures where required.

  • Uphold consistent standards across all factories, ensuring alignment with brand benchmarks for quality, safety, and ethical compliance.

  • Implement quality audits and post-production reviews to drive continuous improvement.
