THE ROLE

Ready to shape the future of one of Australia's most respected contemporary womenswear brands?

As Head of Design, you will lead the creative and commercial direction of the brand, driving the development of globally relevant collections that balance innovation, desirability and commercial success. Working closely with the Founder and executive team, you'll be responsible for defining seasonal vision, leading product strategy and ensuring every collection reflects the brand's distinct aesthetic while resonating across key international markets.

This is a highly influential leadership role suited to a commercially minded creative with a deep understanding of premium womenswear, wholesale collection building and international markets. You'll oversee the end-to-end design process, lead and mentor a talented team, and play a key role in shaping the next stage of growth for an established brand with a strong global presence.

If you're passionate about creating exceptional product, developing high-performing teams and building collections that deliver both creatively and commercially, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall design direction and seasonal strategy in line with the brand vision, customer and commercial objectives

  • Drive the development of globally relevant womenswear collections across dresses, tailoring, separates, occasionwear, resortwear and lifestyle categories

  • Develop seasonal direction across colour, fabrication, print, silhouette, styling and product architecture

  • Build balanced collections that combine statement pieces, commercial drivers, wardrobe essentials and key growth opportunities

  • Design with a strong understanding of international wholesale markets, regional customer preferences and commercial performance

  • Lead digital print strategy and development, ensuring prints remain elevated, brand-right and commercially relevant

  • Oversee the design process from concept through to final production, maintaining exceptional standards across fit, quality and execution

  • Partner closely with suppliers, mills and offshore manufacturing partners to drive innovation, quality and efficiency

  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Merchandising, Production and Marketing teams to ensure collections align with business objectives

  • Utilise digital tools, AI platforms and technology to enhance workflow efficiency, communication and product development

  • Review market feedback, sales performance and customer insights to identify opportunities and inform future collections

  • Lead, mentor and develop the design team, creating a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture

  • Drive continuous improvement across design processes, systems and ways of working

  • Act as a key stakeholder within the business, influencing product strategy, range architecture and long-term brand growth
