6+ years experience as a Senior or Garment Technician, ideally within menswear
Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication and manufacturing processes
Tailoring experience is highly desirable
Experience across T-shirts, separates and other core product categories
Confidence conducting fittings and providing clear, actionable technical feedback
A commercial mindset, with an understanding of quality, cost and production considerations
Experience working with offshore factories and local sample makers
A practical, solutions-focused approach to technical challenges
Ability to support both menswear and womenswear as business needs change

THE ROLE
We’re partnering with a cult-fave Australian fashion brand to find a Senior Garment Technician.
This is a hands-on senior technical role, owning the fit, construction and technical development of garments from initial concept through to production primarily focusing on Menswear.
You’ll work closely with Design, Product Development, Production, pattern makers and offshore manufacturing partners to ensure every garment is technically resolved, production-ready and delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Own technical development across the product lifecycle, from first concept through to production approval
Lead fit sessions and technical reviews, providing clear direction on fit, proportion, construction and workmanship
Oversee pattern development and work closely with pattern makers and factories to achieve the intended fit and silhouette
Develop and maintain fit standards, measurement specifications and approved blocks
Translate creative direction into technically resolved, production-ready garments
Partner with local sample makers and offshore factories to improve sample accuracy and streamline development
Review and approve prototypes, fit samples and pre-production samples
Identify and resolve complex fit, construction and quality issues at their source
Support the assessment and onboarding of new manufacturing partners
Maintain clear technical documentation, specifications, fit comments and approvals
Act as a senior technical point of reference across the product team, sharing knowledge and elevating technical capability
