6+ years’ experience in womenswear technical design within a premium or luxury environment
Advanced expertise in fit, pattern making, grading, and garment construction across multiple categories
Strong fabric and textile knowledge, including testing, performance, and quality assurance
Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams
Strong communication skills with the confidence to make clear technical decisions
Experience working with offshore manufacturers and global supply chains
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Highly detail-oriented with uncompromising quality standards

THE ROLE
The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for leading the technical execution of all collections, ensuring garments meet standards of fit, construction, quality, and consistency. This role works in close partnership with Design, Product Development, and Production to translate creative vision into technically sound, production-ready product.
Part time and Full time will be considered.
If Melbourne based this role will be based in the local HQ, if interstate this role will be done remotely.
Lead and oversee technical design across all assigned categories, ensuring consistency of fit, construction, and brand standards

Own the creation, accuracy, and approval of tech packs, garment specifications, grading rules, and fit comments
Define, maintain, and approve fit standards across collections and size ranges
Lead and conduct fit sessions, providing clear, solution-focused direction and approving final fit prior to production
Review patterns, construction methods, stitching, trims, and finishes to proactively identify and resolve risks
Partner closely with Design to ensure design intent is maintained through development, fit, and production
Work alongside Product Development and Production to align timelines, technical feasibility, and costing considerations
Manage technical communication with offshore factories, vendors, and agents, ensuring clarity and follow-through
Approve grading and size sets to ensure fit consistency across all sizes
Oversee QC of PPS, TOP, and bulk samples to ensure alignment to approved standards
Anticipate and resolve construction or quality issues that could impact bulk production
Mentor and manage Garment Technicians, and Pattern Makers as required
Drive continuous improvement across technical processes, fit accuracy, and supplier performance
