Have a rertiary qualification in Fashion Design
Bring 3-4 years in the apparel industry in design, technical design and/or pattern making.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe creative suite including Illustrator
Demonstrated skill in researching trends and creating brand relevant mood boards and concepts.
Ability to work in fast paced environment and interact with multiple cross-functional teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel overseas to factories to troubleshoot & expedite production if it is required.

THE ROLE
The Designer will work hand-in-hand with the Senior Designers, and wider design & production team to bring new apparel collections and projects to life. This role has been created with the intention of growing the womenswear category. We are seeking a creative thinker ready to contribute big ideas and influence the brand aesthetic.
Present research of current trends and delivery of mood boards and concepts
Provide seasonal research including colour trends, silhouettes, fabric direction, newness in trims and garment details
Create technical sketches in Illustrator
Create toiles and mock ups of product to support design approval process.
Source fabrics and maintain strong relationships with mills, suppliers and agents
Oversee initial sample specifications from approved design sketches.
Assist with planning and preparation of product presentations in collaboration with the Design Assistant.
Manage sample process, tracking and meeting critical path deadlines with manufacturing partners
Review P1, P2 and PP and communicate changes back to overseas vendors
& internal production teamStrong communication with factories to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality prototypes, and samples.
Interact with fabric agents and manufacturers to problem solve issues related to garment engineering, escalating to Senior Designer as required.
Partner with Production, Retail and Merchandising teams to cost the collection and provide product knowledge training leading up to market open.
Establish productive and proactive relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
